Ferry Schedules / Long & Brier Island

Transportation to and from both Long and Brier Islands is provided by a ferry service. Service is provided twenty-four hours a day, every day. Between the mainland and Long Island, the Joe Casey crosses Petite Passage. The ferry was just recently built, and holds roughly twenty-five vehicles; it leaves East ferry on the half hour, and Tiverton on the hour. The ride takes only four to five minutes and lands you in Tiverton. From there, it is about a fifteen minute drive down the island to Freeport. Separating Freeport from Brier Island, is Grand Passage. The Joshua Slocum crosses the passage from Freeport on the hour, and leaves Westport at twenty-five minutes after the hour. The ferry holds roughly sixteen vehicles and the ride takes about seven minutes. Each ferry costs $2.00 return trip.
