Must sign up for at least one full year of services to receive these rates. You must supply all images and text to receive these rates. With all plans above we will scan six images and setup twelve outside links to other sites of you choice. | Adding a Link / Nova Scotia Site |
| To add a link, e-mail us your sites URL,
and also your mailing address so we can send you an invoice for payment.
We will add your link to the municipalities web page, that your business
is located in. Example: If your a business located in Digby, when a visitor
clicks on the Municipality of Digby located on the of Nova Scotia, your
link would be listed under Digby's businesses, as well as on our businesses
page on the Nova Scotia site. Directories will be setup as needed to accommodate
new listings.

| Adding A Small Ad / Nova Scotia Site |
| If you would like to place a simple ad
in your towns listing, to advertise your business we can do that for you.
We will add your link to our business site and setup your page with the ad displayed. This is actually a single page web site for your
ad to be displayed on. There are no options with these one page sites,
pages are templates pre designed to display your ad, one hundred word
limit. Here's an example ad listed for Someone's Seafood. "Example
Ad"

This service could include text art, custom logo's custom backgrounds,
custom buttons, custom animation's, horizontal rules and so on. With a
qualified graphic designer on staff with a diploma in digital imaging and
using the most up to date professional imaging software on the market,
you can be assured satisfaction, that your graphics are 100% original,
not copied from the Web. We do have a supply royalty free web graphics
that can be used as an alternative to having them custom made if you so

| Site Layout |
| Several things have to be taken into account when designing your site: image size, over all appearance, fonts, framed or no framed windows, color combinations, intended audience, load time and so on. Load time, is by far one of the most important. No one is going to set around and wait very long for a site to load no matter how good it looks on your hard drive. The biggest cause of this problem is simply to much information crammed on a single web page. Whether it be a single image of mass file size, lots of small images, screens and screens of text or combinations of the above, the results are the same "a page that takes forever to load". We try to keep opening pages "the index page" loading time under 30 seconds when loaded with a 14.4 modem. We have special software that gives us the estimated load time of a web page before we put it on the internet. |
| Enhanced Scanning |
| Coastal Web Services uses image enhancing color flat bid scanners to scan your photos and images. These scanners are capable of scanning up to a 8.5" x 14'' image. Once scanned our graphic designer can edit these image files and get them web ready. There is more to putting images on the Net than just scanning and sticking them in a web page. When CWS designs your web pages, you'll be assured all images are compressed and optimized to perform and look their best on the web. |
| Sound On Your Site |
| Sound files such as au, wav and midi files add sound to your site. There are several places on the web where you can obtain sound files for use on your site for free, or providing you set up a link back to their site; of course you can always supply your own. Some people think sites with sound are great, yet others find it annoying. A couple of things to consider are your intended audience, and also most sound files tend to be large in size and can slow down the loading of your web pages. The decision is up to you. If you want sound we can give you sound. |

| We use special software to prepare and optimize your image files for the web. This ensures good image quality and fast loading pages; which makes for happy surfers who come across your site. |
| Frames or No frames? |
| Frames can help in the navigation and over all appearance of your site. For instance, a simple two window frame set with a directory on the left containing navigation buttons for your site is more convenient than scowling up and down pages looking for navigation buttons. Although it is thought about 15% of browser's being used don't support frames. I personally think that percentage is now decreasing rapidly. If you think frames can add to the appearance of your site, or can help in the navigation of your site, go for it, you can always have a no frames version to accommodate those 15% of web surfers. Also some search engines are unable to index sites that are framed, but there are ways around most of these problems that occur with framed sites. |
| Search Engine Registration |
| Putting a web page or site on the World Wide Web is virtually useless if you don't register or promote it with some of the major search engines and directories. Although these search engines are spidering the web looking for new sites, it could be months before they find your site if they find it at all. People have to be able to find your site, and registering with these search engines and directories provides away. At Coastal Web Services we will register your site as part of our site design package with the most popular search engines, and directories from around the world. There is no charge for this service if we build and host your site your site. |
| Secure Server |
| Coastal Web Services has secure server capabilities When we host your web site we can setup a web form through our secure server. This will allow your site to receive information securely over the internet. This is great if your site intends to sell items, because you can receive customers credit card information securely. You must have your own merchant account to accept credit cards. Secure server capabilities are an add on and some extra charges apply. |
